How we began...

John D'Angelo first came to the Goulburn Valley fruit growing region north of Victoria in 1965 at the age of 18 for a holiday. However, this holiday soon extended to permanent residency as John took advantage of the employment opportunities. A qualified fitter and turner, John spent nearly two years gaining experience at Laverton and then returned to Kyabram with ambitions to start his own business. He initially worked for the Kyabram Preserving Company for five years, while also carrying out part time work as a fitter and turner for local Italian businesses. John soon built up a reputation as a skilled trades-person and found that demand for his services was exceeding the time that he had available. He purchased some land and constructed a 50' (15.2m) x 25' (7.6m) workshop, and on the 2nd of August 1973, J N & R Engineering commenced full time operation.

40+ years on, John has stepped down as head of the business and names his three sons as his successors.  Gino (Director), John (Designer) and Frank (xxx) worked under John all their lives in preparation for this succession.  Their commitment to their fathers' passion for engineering, philosophy of listening closely to customers, combined with their own skills and innovative natures will help take the foundations of JN&R and launch the business into a new era.

What once was a small local operation, JN&R are now recognize Australia and world-wide as leaders in fine tuned engineering design and precise manufacturing. As sales continue to grow all over Australia, JN&R also raise efforts to increase the exports of JN&R quality machinery. While growth is exciting, the goal of producing a top of the line machine at a highly competitive price will always be a top priority at JN&R, even in the most demanding climate.
